Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I hope all of my fellow Supper-Clubbers had a very Merry Christmas! I know we did & I cannot wait to hear what all of our SC kids got from Santa!

Don't forget, that we'll have our New Year's Eve party at our house this Wednesday night from 7:30pm til 2009. I hope that you can all make it, so that we can bring in this new year with our family & friends!

Happy Birthday, Jaxson!

Our little Jaxson celebrated his 2nd birthday last Friday, the 19th. We all joined him Saturday morning for a "Construction" Birthday Party at his house. The kids all had a great time "constructing" their own ice cream sundaes and playing outside. Jaxson received so many nice things...he's not going to know what to think when he gets gifts again this week for Christmas!

Saturday night, Supper clubbers gathered together at the Mason's for our annual Christmas Party. It was a blast! There was more food than you could ever imagine! Santa dropped off gifts for the kids & then the "big kids" played dirty santa...which is always good for a lot of laughs!

Yesterday, we shopped for the little girl we are sponsoring for Christmas this year. We bought her lots of clothes, food, toiletries, and of course, toys!! It was a lot of fun & I really hope she likes it all!

Tonight, the card-game kids will exchange gifts. With all the parties we've had & the presents they have received so far, there's going to be nothing left for Santa to bring!

Our Turn To Cook...

This weekend was our turn for Supper Club. Eric wanted to do a low-country boil again, but I talked him out of it since we did that last time & because there are a few in our group that aren't fans of shrimp. So, I cooked a ham & a turkey, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, garden peas, mac-n-cheese, crescent rolls & a cream cheese danish with ice cream for dessert. For my first time ever cooking a ham or a turkey, I thought they turned out pretty good. Kevin, Stacy & the kids joined us for supper club last night & we enjoyed having them. We missed several of our "regulars" though...Tracy, Robin, Shannon, Clay, Dana & Leah weren't able to make it...it didn't seem the same without them. We are all ready for Shannon to get back on his feet (literally)...we have really missed him the last couple of weeks!

Don't forget supper-clubbers: This Saturday is Jaxson's Birthday party at the Wiggins' house at 10am. Also that night, we will have our Christmas Party at the Mason's house at 6:30pm. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Playing Catch-up

I'm sorry it has been so long since my last post...it has been a really hectic week! And, Supper Club has been very busy. So, let's get started & play catch-up on what's been going on...

Last weekend, the Wiggins' held their first ever "Kettles of Fire" Chili Cookoff. And, the weather was perfect...it was "chili" that night (and rainy). Everything was decorated with hot peppers and chilis & there were tons of crock-pots filled with everyone's personal chili-creation. After everyone had sampled all the cookoff entries, Beth handed out prizes for the winners. Two Supper Clubbers actually won...Shannon won "best all-around" chili & I won "sweetest" chili (I think it was so sweet because I stirred it with my finger!) The kids then took turns hitting the chili-pepper pinata. After the crowd cleared out, we had a blast playing "Taboo" and listening to the guys "intoxicated" answers. It was a lot of fun. As soon as I get the chili cookoff pictures from Beth, I will be sure to post them!

The next night, we were all back at the Wiggins' for Supper Club where we enjoyed some great lasagna & garlic bread. After eating, we let the kids draw names to exchange for Christmas...they really enjoyed that. We're going to let them exchange on Monday, December 22 at card game.

Last night, the city had their Christmas parade. Molly & I rode on her dance group's float & Caroline & Tracy rode in a convertible for Caroline's "many" pageant titles. When the parade was over, we headed over to EGC to watch Beth perform her dances for Beta Lites....that was hilarious! Just look at white-girl busting a move:
We would all like to send our get-well wishes to Shannon. After an unfortunate farm accident, he will be undergoing surgery today on his leg. We are all praying that the surgery goes smoothly & as planned. We love you, Shannon & are ready for you to come home soon!

Welcome Home, Cliff!

After such a busy weekend, it was so nice to gather with friends for supper last night. We had supper club at the Mason's house. Cliff came home early & surprised the girls...they were so excited to see him (we all were). We are so proud to have him home for a few weeks. We did miss having Clay, Dana & Leah join us though...hopefully they'll be back next week!

"Pioneer Woman Tracy" cooked us some to-die-for Marlboro Man sandwiches and homemade french fries. Then, for dessert, we had a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream....mmm...mmm. Wish I had some now! After supper, we enjoyed playing "Things"...needless to say, games get pretty interesting with this crowd!

Before we headed home, everyone decided on a date for our Supper Club Christmas Party this year. It will at the Mason's on Saturday, December 20th at ???...sorry, I forgot what time (someone email me that when you get the chance)!

I've also updated the "dates to remember"...check it out!

Love That Cornbread!

This past Sunday, Supper Clubbers gathered at the Mason's clubhouse. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of poppy-seed chicken, peas, mac & cheese and lacy cornbread, oops...I mean crescent rolls. We also a really good cheesecake for dessert. Everyone kept close to the fireplace, since the heater wasn't working...well, it worked, it just blew cold air! So, besides being cold, having no cornbread & having to squinch our eyes from the glare off of Clay's halo (thanks, Dana...I love that quote!) we had another wonderful night at Supper Club!

A Memorable Meal

Last night was our turn to cook for Supper Club. And, what did we do? We cooked a meal that half of the people there could not or would not eat, served it with burned breadsticks & followed it up with a dessert that was so chewy it felt like you were chewing rubber. Leave it to us Hammock's to serve up a truly memorable meal! (We had a lot of fun, though, and that's really all that matters!) We'll try to do better tonight at card game...

Good Job, Girls!

Our little dancers did so good last night at the TCE Fall Festival. Even though everyone was running terribly behind, our girls waited patiently until their time to shine arrived.
Caroline performed her solo for the first time on stage & did a really good job. I don't know who was more nervous before-hand, her or Tracy! She also did her gymnastics routine later in the night.
Molly actually danced her entire routine for the first time ever! I was such a proud moma...she did so good!
Here are our two little dancers...both refusing to look at the camera!

Shake A Leg, Little Dancers!

Good luck tonight, Caroline & Molly! We know you will both do great performing your dances tonight at TCE's Fall Festival. Caroline will be performing her solo for the first time (our fingers are crossed) at 5:30 and doing her gymnastics at 7. Molly will stepping on stage for second time (fingers-still crossed) at 6:30. Shake a leg, little dancers! We love ya'll!!

Odds & Ends

All the kids enjoyed trick-or-treating last week & got tons of candy. As soon as Beth forwards me the pictures of our 3 little punks begging for candy, I will post them on here. (Of all days, my camera batteries were dead!) Oh, here they are:

Welcome to our newest supper-clubbers, Dana & Leah. We enjoyed meeting you both last night & look forward to spending more time with you! Last night, we had supper club at the Mason's house & it was delicious. After a great meal, we enjoyed 2 really good cakes that Tracy won the night before at the Kite Fall Festival cake walk. Shannon, Robin, Molly & I (on the other hand) just walked all night & never won a single cake. Oh well, there's always next year! To top off the night, the kids called Cliff on the webcam & he let them know he'd be home in a couple of weeks. That made their (and our) night!

Congratulations, Caroline, on winning Miss Christmas 2008! You truly are our little princess with ALL of your crowns!

Welcome home, Mattie-Grace Lane. We are all so proud that you are finally healthy enough to come home & we cannot wait to visit you!

And, last but definitely not least, we would like to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STACY...We hope you have a wonderful day!"

Halloween Spook-tacular

This weekend was the 6th annual Halloween Bash at the Hammock's house. We spent Friday night (despite the pouring down rain all day) decorating the shop for the party...thanks so much Beth, Tadd, Tracy & Shannon for ALL your help getting everything ready. After decorating was finished, we went to our favorite hang-out, Ware's, for supper.

The party was so much fun & I think everyone had a really great time! The focus of the Halloween Party has really changed direction over the past few years. What used to be a pretty much all-adult party that involved lots of "beverages" has turned into a party that focuses on & actually revolves around the kids. Of course, there are still a few "beverages" here & there. But, personally, I think the party is getting better every year. I mean what could be better than this:I think the kids had a really good time Saturday night, too. They enjoyed the pumpkin pinata, "pick-up-pumpkins", and even an old-fashion turn at bobbing for apples.

Jaxson loved bobbing for apples...he loves anything involving water!

Caroline was very proud of herself for doing it "all by herself"!

And, Molly finally got the hang of it, too!

Good job, Braylon!

Riley got one!

Finley got one, too!

I was very pleased at the number of people of actually dressed-up for the occassion this year. Even though, that seems to get fewer & fewer each year. We had a variety of costumes ranging from:A Rock-star & A Gypsie

To The Rubbles

To Hippies & A Cheerleader

To Zorro, His Spanish Whore And Their Cow-kids

Even a Whoopie Cusion accompanied King Charles!

We then took the kids on a spooky & very chilly hay-ride around Cooter Creek Farms. We saw several deer & Uncle Jamey really enjoyed himself while trying to scare the kids!

And, at our parties, things seem to get a little crazy when it gets late at night. The sun goes down, the kids are wore down, and most of the guys are tore down. So, don't even ask what happens when it gets late & only the hard-core partiers remain...

See, I told you not to ask...

Seriously, don't ask!

It's Party-Time!

Alright Supper-Clubbers...get your wigs out, faces painted, costumes on and drinks mixed, because it's time to party! I can't wait to see you all tomorrow night in your costumes for our Halloween Party! And, don't forget to bring your appetite..there will plenty of goodies to munch on! Happy Haunting!

4 Women & 5 Wild Kids

What a great night the ladies of supper club had last night! We traveled to Statesboro and went to Party Impressions (for Halloween supplies) & Petco, where the kids loved watching the snapping turtles swim in their "pond". Although, we probably wouldn't have ever made it without our backseat-driver, Tracy! We then met up with Stacy, Finley & Riley at Loco's for supper to celebrate Tracy's birthday. After getting our bellies full, the entire gang terrorized Lowe's to get some tables for this weekend's Halloween Party. It's amazing how quickly 4 women & 5 wild kids can blow a young teenage guy's mind while shopping at Lowe's. Bless his heart, he was just trying to help!
To top the night off, we stopped by the hospital to visit Mark & Sandy and see their new beautiful baby girl, Maddie Grace. Molly, Caroline & Jaxson were able to see her through the nursery window, and Beth, Tracy & I actually got to hold her! She is so tiny & so precious! We cannot wait for her to get healthy & strong enough to come home.

We finally arrived home about 10pm last night after a long ride back with Beth's "stinky-butt" child & "stinky-breath"dog! But what a great time we had...I cannot wait to do it again!

Birthday Wishes & Fair Adventures

I'd like to start off by saying, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TRACY"...we hope you have a wonderful day today!

Friday night we took all the kids to the Statesboro Fair & needless to say, they had a blast! It was at least triple the size of Swainsboro's fair & there was an entire "kiddieland" section with rides just for little kids! They rode til their little hearts were content & we all ate until our tummies were more than content...thanks for the funnel cakes, Kevin! The kids topped off the night by all "winning" goldfish to take home...actually, the kids threw about 500 ping-pong balls, but never won anything! The fair-man just felt sorry for them & gave them all a goldfish. Except for Molly, who received what we think is a large-mouth bass!

Welcome to the world, "Baby Maddie-Grace Lane". We are so proud you are here & healthy. Congratulations Sandy & Mark on your new baby girl!

Cancelled Supper Club

It seemed that the entire supper club was scattered across the Southern United States yesterday, so we actually cancelled supper club last night...but, don't worry, we'll make it up next week! And, of course, we'll get together tonight for the guy's card game...except for Tracy & Caroline, who are still in Texas! They need to come home soon...we miss them! But, I know they are having a great time visiting Cliff (who we also really miss!) Oh, and I also want to send "get well wishes" to Shannon, who mysteriously threw his back out this weekend...wonder how that happened?

We are planning on taking the kids to the Statesboro Fair this Friday night. I hope we have good weather, because I know the kids (and me!) will really enjoy it! I just can't wait for some cotton candy!

Welcome to Supper Club!

Welcome to our Supper Club website! We are a group of great friends that get together every Sunday (and usually a lot more often than that) for food, fun & tons of laughs.
We recently returned from a week-long trip to Myrtle Beach, SC for our summer vacation & we had a blast! We enjoyed going to Thorny's, the Dixie Stampede, Margaritaville, and of course Dick's, where we got our very own, personalized hats! It was hilarious!
We hope you enjoy our site & don't forget to leave us a comment!
